Update on Sharecare Ghana

February 24th, 2008 · 2 Comments

The support group has been set up, but most of the members are so ill at the moment that they just don’t want to meet with other people. So it’s mainly been phone calls and visits from me when I can go out.
It would be nice if we could all get together, but maybe we should focus on advocacy for the mean time…
It looks like our research institute might take up some research into auto-immune diseases, so that’s something to look forward to.
We’ve also become members of the Ghana Federation of the Disabled.
And thanks to ABANTU for Development, which has agreed to partner us in our advocacy efforts, we may benefit from a funding organisation. “ABANTU is a gender and policy advocacy organisation working to enhance women’s wellbeing.”

Sorry to hear most of the members are ill. Hope they get better soon. What research institute is that?

    Thanks Aye.
It’s Noguchi Memorial, which is our leading research institute in Ghana. I’ll be meeting them next week for the details of the research. I’m sooooo excited about this.
