I understand the reasons for cutting out red meat. My naturopath explained that red meat could pose a notable increase in cancer risk. But after a blood test this week, I find that I’m anaemic.
I faithfully eat my green leafy vegetables, so what else can I eat to get my body’s iron requirements?
These diets can be really confusing. I’d appreciate some advice here.

Lentils and soybeans are supposed to be the richest in iron. Can you have any of those?

Hmmmm, thanks ggnyc. I had cut out legumes as well, but I think I’ll try lentils.
By the way (fingers crossed) the grapeseed extract seems to have sorted out my stomach problems.

Other things i ve heard recommended by a friends whose into health food are sunflower seeds and as a general rule of thumb anything green
[aside from turf but you where nt going to be eating that anyway where you]
and also take loads of C vit as it helps absorbtion of the iron.
A friend of mines going to be writing out somhing about iron for you so i ll send you a scan of it when i get it.

    how are you doing anyway?.

Just wonder if there is a gender differentiation in diet where a bloke will just take vitamin tablets/eat more fruit/less processed food whilst a woman follows an entire dietry regime with reference to good food/bad food.

Just spent the last 2 weeks eating junk food, pastries and stuff but thats the problem with morphine though as it decreases appetite aside from sugary things.

Interesting that you should ask that stevem. Someone told me that men produce an enzyme that digests food better than women and that’s why they’re able to consume copious amounts of alcohol and eat late into the night and not have problems afterwards.
I don’t know how far this is true, but I’m inclined to believe it.
